Pool decks are the hardest surface we coat and the one we do most. The slab gets sun all day, chlorinated or salt water on it constantly, and bare wet feet walking across it. A finish that works in a garage will fail outside within two summers.
This is where polyurethane earns its money. It is UV stable, so the color holds instead of going yellow. It resists pool chemicals and sunscreen. And we build the slip resistance into the system rather than adding grit as an afterthought, so it grips wet without being rough underfoot.
